Welcome to Desertion Photography

Founded in 2009, desertionphotography Is a website devoted to the beauity and photogenicy of abandonment and decay.

This is what inspired me to begin photography but as seen on the site i have shown that as a self dubbed Urban Explorer I am not a criminal or an outlaw as police and public may believe but merely a photographer with a serious passion about my work. I have shown different aspects of my photography. I also love the thrill of entering a site unseen and untouched for years and making a photographic record of the history that remains.

Over the years I have worked with various other enthusiasts and we  have worked with different orginisations, councils, schools and websites to photograph, document and map various underground structures. We have been involved with projects  including disused, abandoned and historical sites.

Please follow the relevent links to the right of the page to view all documented work by DesertionPhotography from underground, indutrial, millitary, leisure sites and much much more. You will be able to read a report on each site visited and view a collection of photos from the explore.

I have met many explorers along the way and many have become a valued part of my life. Some of the best times I've had have been exploring. I've climbed buildings and towers to capture a single photo and been deep underground in mines, tunnels, bunkers to search for historical reminants. This is who i am and i hope my work and efforts are appreciated by few but known by many.

Please see the forums page and feel free to join. Here you can see reports from myself and from others that i have met along the way.

Together, our goal is to show and document the beauty behind the history, abandonment and desertions of places throughout the UK which are often forgotten and not seen by the general public.

Thankyou for visiting the website. I hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions or queries then please feel free to fill out the contact form. I will do my best to respond as quick as possible.

Prints of all photos on the pages are available upon request. Please once again go to the contact section and complete the form. Prices will be given in response.
